The 2007 edition of ASME Section VIII-2 is mandatory as of July 1, 2009. All new equipment designed with the rules of ASME VIII-2 should utilize the 2007 edition and applicable addenda. Equipment contracted to earlier editions may still use the applicable version. All users should update their software to ensure they are using the mandatory Code reports and analyses. FE/Pipe and Nozzle/PRO licenses with active Software Maintenance Service (SMS) accounts will receive the new Div 2 analysis.
